pin striping would be cool.

how did you do the rust? strip the paint, then acid?
it's a nice even job, well done.

steelies need the rust treatment too, use the bunnings rust paint though, actual rusty wheels are illegal

What about putting a clear coat over the rust panels? might keep the police off your back and may look the goods. Though it could completely ruin the effect, would be worth a try on a sample piece I recon.

That rustic look is great mate, keep it up.

striped the paint, then left it outside for a couple of weeks. mother nature was taking her sweet ass time, so i hurried it along wit some sea salt disolved in warm water, mixed with vinegar.

ta mate. yeah i rekon the clear will take away from the effect im going for. i could use a stain or varnish like the rat rod boys do, but i think it would be too near to the colour of the car......

good that you wiped it, relying on nature gives a poor finish.

Because it looks like shit.

It looks kinda 'natural' to me... these cars do rust anyway, why insist on keeping the paint on? Interesting mod though. Talking about rat looks, you should see this ride. Maybe it gives you some ideas for your EXA (I hope you don't mind that I posted one pic here)...

You can find it at ZXOC Forums: http://www.zxoc.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6326

I like your EXA better though. It's tidier.

in all honesty dude these cars are shit but they have so much character, are fun and go fairly well when running right. we still play around with these things because they are a fun addictive little shitbox! :D - Ash
