Bonnet Scoop Ideas!

Post by Dinwoodie »

Hey everyone,
I am doing the fron of my ET back up (i never had the front spoiler and the paint is cracked on the bonnet)

I am putting a top mount intercooler on it, which i purchased from a n12turbo member, i managed to stalk a dude who was selling an ET front spoiler on toyota forums 4 months ago and pick it up for $60 brand new but now its time to pick a bonnet scoop that will siut the car and not look stupid!

I was looking at the GU Patrol Bonnet Scoop but for what they are they are expensive, anyone have any ideas that would look good and not cost me a fortune?

Nice looking scoop mate, shame you took it off. The top mount is going where the battery would normally be located so a wrx one would look horrible mounted down the front of the car :(

Hey, I think go the WRX scoop, it looks heaps more aggressive, and if you dont mind some screwing around, you can make a fibre glass duct easy enough.
On the other hand, I was given mine, so it was worth it.

yeah i think i may have to go the pajero/patrol idea and just suck it up when it comes to paying.

The wrx one would be a plumbing nightmare, and it would attract too much unwanted attention to the car i feel.

Why not piss the top mount interheater off (which means you don't need any form of scoop) and go for a far better form and function, stealth black 300x600 front mount?

Yeah i was thinking about it, i have an FMIC and all the piping off another low mount turbo'd ET here but it requires the chasy to be cut which i don't want to do, the only other way is to run all of the piping under the supports but then it would be illegal.

And i also don't want to lose the practicality of the air conditioner, gone are the days i sacrifice comfort over performance/looks.

I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense.
