Brake master cylinder leaking
Brake master cylinder leaking
Hey guys.
Well my brake master cylinder is putting out fluid from where the electrical switch is on the master cylinder.
And I mean pouring out when pressed in pedal and just very small leaking overnight.
I have tried changing over switch but it has not stopped.
So no new ones available.
Do do I just use a brass plug and bung it up or get another switch or get the master reconditioned.

The GX Pooser (Langley) uses a MC that appears exactly the same as an ET job.
Apparently, it has a slightly different bias to account for the drums on the back.
These MC's are identified by a different number stamped onto the front of the cylinder body. Dunno what it is. Its written about somewhere in here.
Im have tried both ET and GX types on mine chasing different bias.
They will both work but some extra rear brake bias is written about.

Numbers stamped into the end to show bias.samual wrote:Well I have both on the bench at home and the only diff i can see it the springs inside the master cylinder that go to the rear brake lines.
Mine only leaking out of the swtich when pressure is applied.
Was hoping for an easy cheap fix but looks like i have to take it to get rebuilt..
IIRC the disc brake one is 1.5 and the drum is 2.6. So the drum brake swap to disc brake'd car would result in more bais to the rears.

My MC must be leaking into the booster reservoir. Do they sell rebuild kits or do I have to buy a new MC?

I found a place called Bailey's Brake and Clutch that are going to get cups and seals for me. I'll pull it down and fix it myself. I'll have to remove the booster and get the fluid out of it.
