Well, everybody has their own definition of what antique is. For me, a car that is more than 50 years old is antique.
I mean, let's not start an argumentation about this.
Great to have a N10 aboard too, I think this is the first one (correct me if I'm wrong)! Do you have any photos of the car? Would be nice to see!

To my mind, the term antique suggests gear that was made in a different way, usually with different materials... so I figure a simple age limit doesn't work as well as a date cut-off like pre-war, for example.
And I'd say the fact that the definition varies across different types of kit backs this approach up...
So I'd define antique cars as those made in the days of coachbuilders, before monocoque construction, since that seems like the point where the car came into its own right, leaving behind the horseless carriage thing. I guess classic would be the word for anything collectible made since.

I'd like to see this N10 beastie.
I guess the term "antique" is relative like anything else. It is the sum effect of rarity, nostagia and original market value. According to the RTA anything 30 years old and beyond can qualify as "vintage," getting the associated benefits.
Not trying to start an arguement here....just sharing my thoughts.

The legends we write help us grasp the truth.
I'm aware of the 30yo = vintage thing... and vintage is about as close to antique as a word can get.
As a technical term it's fine, but for general usage I reckon what I said about antique should apply.
When someone says vintage or antique car, I think of running boards and wooden wheels and shit... although vintage doesn't seem as necessarily old; I guess you could refer to cars with chrome bumpers as vintage, but it seems a bit of a stretch to me... but then again, maybe I just don't like the idea of being older than a vintage car.
