Well, the three packets were to hold a new windscreen (intended for my spare car in addition to the engine from the trashed one) in the no longer quite windscreen-shaped aperture.
The overboost valve vents at around 9PSI and can easily be replaced with a bung, but if you're a tightwad like me, then it's blu-tac FTW ; )

I trust you. I just always want to know HOW they work.

I was wondering where your introductory thread was. That made for a lively read. Not that I understand much.....
Oh the indicators are mad little things. They seemed to go berserk for a while after I got it back from the repair shop but now they have settled into the same behaviour that they displayed when I got the car. This car is a character.

Sounds like it didn't want to be called a "bucket of bolts" and punished you for it.
That's just like the computer I am using now. The vodafone wireless broadband stuffed the system up and the computer broke two USBs and the USB ports would not work for a long time. Now it is behaving fine. I'm never going to get a Dell computer again.

Problem solved
Hello all,
I thought I would write this down in case this happens to someone else in the future.
I managed to pop the hazard light button out without damaging it. That was like extracating an eyeball....I tried to replace the hazard light button but that didn't work. The problem seemed to be corrosion on the copper connections. I cleaned the oxidised green stuff off everything and put it all together again. After that it has been working fine.
I suspect that the cabin light might be subject to the same issue. Does anyone know where the wires are for these?
Thanks to Green globin for the help.![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Cheers,

Cabin Light
I had a squiz at the cabin light but I can;t get to the screws. The plastic opaque cover appears to be glued to the ceiling and I'd have to rip it off get to the light itself. Is that normal?? Is there any trick to getting it off without destroying something? The light is going to die eventually and I will have to change the bulb one day.
And then my friend started to go on about how stupidly ancient my car is...Bah!![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
