Rear engine mount
Rear engine mount
Hey all,
Just want to see if all of you can rock your engine back and forth at all.
I've just put my rear engine mount back in after doing a gearbox and I tell you, I cannot move the fuking thing backwards 10mm.
Forwards is not a problem, I can rock that easily but backwards (towards the firewall) is so tight. Feels like the littel shocker at the back doesn't move inwards and outwards. Like its siezed or something.
Cheers

the more it moves it will pop out of gears and do damage to the mount.

Buy Sigaflex and fill the engine mounts with the stuff and their you have solid engine mounts, spray wd40 over the mount to see if that gets it moving otherwise take that mount off and get it checked somewhere and see if its stuffed.
Doubt its seezed, your prob not strong enough to compress it. if you could move the engine right back by yourself then the engine shouldnt be making much power with that mount on or you'll wreck the mount even more.

I posted earlier, but it didn't appear,
anyway the et and exa mounts are different the exa is the same as the NA. You can use the NA or Exa ones with no problems:

dude, make sure you have that thick bent bar that goes from the box to the engine to stop the box pulling away from the engine. My gearbox had extra damage given to it from that bar not being their cause AllJap took it off as well as many other parts they lost and replaced with crap! Exa's have the same bar, so just check your import yards

Yep, I have that. It goes from the back of the block somewhere to the bottom of where the gearbox and block meet.unique_ET_N12 wrote:dude, make sure you have that thick bent bar that goes from the box to the engine to stop the box pulling away from the engine.
