Post by HemZ-ET »

Hey guys im doing my tappets 2 night when i get home i was reading the manual and it says to adjust them to

0.28 Hot (0.011)

or

0.22 Cold (0.09)

Just confirming i adjust them to the hot setting correct?

if your driving it home the engine will be hot, so use the hot measurement

if the car hasnt been driven and the engine is cold use the cold setting!
i always did mine hot
I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense.

You are mostly always ment to do things hot. Hot=opperating temperature, which is what the car is most of the time.

They are ment to be done hot. The only reason there is a cold setting is to set them to something when the engine is being re-assembled. There is no need to check/adjust them cold in any other circumstance.

Its important that the motor is really hot, Ie: just shut off after being thoroughly heated up to get a good and consistent adjustment.
And do them quickly while there is still plenty of head in the head and valve gear.
So, get all your shit together and get as much rubbish out of the way before you begine, heat it up and off you go!
