Hey, today I put some longer studs on the rear of the Prairie for the new rims,
When I pulled the rear drums off, I had a bit of a look, and compared them to the ET Discs.
I had a look at the Article about disc upgrade,
it talks about replacing the swing arm,
which I cant do.
but looking at it, the stud axle look exactly the same,
and I am wondering if I can just remove the drums assembly and replace it with the disc brake one?
I cant see why you would replace the whole swing arm.
I don't think the wheel will hit, but I am putting 8mm spacers on anyway.
I pulled the whole braking system out of the ET donor,
I was going to look at changing the brake booster and discs one day,
but the fact that the Prairie has a weird ass proportioning valve and torsion bar rearend made me shelve the idea,
but if it is possible to replace the assembly, I may give it a go before I try to get it rego'd.
So the question is, can you just change the drum and disc assembly?
and Has anyone done it that way??
Thanks
FYI this is the proportioning valve on the Prairie
