Head porting and valve size questions???

Post by MICK »

Hey guys im interested in guys and girls that have done head work and what has been done

im in the process of building a monster engine i was looking at fitting oversize valves and some sever porting cam selection and valve springs

also what can be done to the head to stop the cracking problem they have under high boost bla bla

i was looking into having the material around the plug where its realy thin welded up and then porting it further

what can be done to the heads and what gains are to be had
i would like to make 200fwkws
and no smart comments please just positive and helpful tips

With porting only get the exhaust side ported inlet side is a waste of money and is going to gain you little to nothing on a forced induction, cam to use is racetec stage 3-4 follow with holden 253 valve springs, once you have that done and exhaust manifold and what ever else you are going to fit the the setup go for a full tune on you microtec, wolf, ect.. you get the hint, with cracking in the head just make sure you have a good cooling system, a well cooled setup is going to keep things in track.

Good luck.
Project is now finished!
