Nah, using that definition I could be considered old because I constantly mixed up the surnames of two people under my command in the army. (My compulsory military service took a year, I served as corporal.)

My point is, some people mix up names easily, some less easily, but it can happen to anybody at any time. And it hasn't got much to do with age...

Sorry, but I have very little time for the bullshit half assed text lingo attempts at writing posts! What works with your mates on a mobil is your own buisness, but if you want to loose the imput of a majority of the knowledgable members, txt awy!

My 2 cents.

The following paragraph demonstrates the ability of the human mind to interpret beyond the spelling. As it says only 55% of people can read the following paragraph, but amazingly 55% actually can....

Enjoy!

The thing with that is all the words are still in their correct place, with punctuation, in their entirety, regardless of how they are spelled. There's obviously things wrong with our learning today when we can read and understand that easier than what each other write.

I opened a can of worms and if it got a few people thinking, then I'm glad I did. Thanks for all the responses, no offence was pointed towards anyone or intended with this thread. I am most appreciative of all the responses I get from everyone even if it takes me a little while to understand them. This is a great site. Keep up the great work.

the english language is constantly evolving.

have a look at 50 years ago, sometime you can barely understand what they are saying lol.

then look at Shakespeare?

the english language in another 50 years is going to change the same amount again, all you can do it try and keep up with it.

sometimes it is difficult due to local colloquialisms which differ every 50km but with the internet spreading and being more inimately involved in the general populations lives, it's possible that local colloquialisms may be wiped out and replaced with a more universal form of the language.

so xr6eta, good on ya for attempting to learn the new lingos :) no point being left behind eh.
