Line up he old one at TDC before you pull it and youll know where the new one has to be.

hard thing is that the head is not on the car im not a mechanic but my father and brother are they said get number 4 on the rock just want to make shore as ive put alot of work into this car already cheers

Mmmmm sry M8, unless you took notice of the marks when pulling the old head off then its close to guesswork where it goes. Without seeing it I have NFI.
Get a manual for it is the best i can reccommend.
