RoadRacings 1.5l 3 door N12
Hi everyone!
Name: Roope Anttila
Location: Satakunta, Finland
Year/ Model: 1985 Nissan Cherry.
Colour: Pink
Period of ownership: 3 years
Performance: 75hp
Engine Mods: None, yet.
Interior Mods: Turbo ET seats, SQL door trims, black carpet.
Exterior Mods: None, except paint.
Wheels: 14" blaablaa rims.
ICE: Alpine 9980-R player, Fusion 6,5" speakers and tweeters. Xplod 12" subwoofer and cheap fusion amplifier
Future Plans: E15ET (working on it already) OR CA18(D)ET, I already bought B11 Diesel sunny and that transmission should bolt on straight to CA***** engine.
Car mileage is 185000km and I drive it daily to work.
Never had any problems EXCEPT, rear control arms were rusted off from body, but I welded them back and it's better than new
Ask if you wanna know something.
Pics:
It all started from this:
Had to do some welding before I could ride it.
It was soooo ugly back then.
Well earned beer. You can also see my ex beemer at the back. Text on the shirt means "Mom is tough guy".
It's ready for masking.
It's ready, clock was ~4.30am.
More pictures
We painted that N12 orange 18.9.2010. And winter 2010 I got bored with color and painted car again.
Some assholes broke all my windows and stuff at new years eve, but I fixed it

Welcome!
Another fellow Finn, nice!
Looks like your car was almost as rusty as mine before I started restoring it. I like the orange paintjob, but why did you choose pink as the next color?
Lolz @ the extreme positive camber on the rear wheel of the 'festival' N12.

Are you planning to do an engine conversion/upgrade of some sort?
Well, here's an opportunity for all the others to learn how to swear in Finnish. That N12's hood is full of swear words (some are misspelled on purpose) and bad language in general. Oh, you can also see some proper language and a few names, too.
BTW, the term 'ET' comes from the N12 Turbo's engine code E15ET, which stands for; E: the engine family, 15: the displacement (1.5l), E: electronic fuel ignition, T: turbo. In Australia, Nissan decided to use the 'ET' part of the engine type code as a part of the name of the Turbo model. So your N12's and mine are not ET's, technically speaking... until an E15ET sits under the hood.

I think it's supposed to be sort of a trim level. Our N12's are 'GL' hatchbacks. But the European 'GL' trim level is more or less the same as the Australian 'GX' trim level because 'GL' was the top of the line trim level for the non-turbo N12 in Europe, in Australia 'GX' was top of the line for the non-turbo N12 IIRC.RoadRacing wrote:Man I'm stupid, I always thought ET was code for body...

At least the engine mounts will turn out to be useful, the CD engine series is a diesel version of the CA engine series. Not sure about the rest.RoadRacing wrote:Currently I'm hunting CA18ET or CA18DET engine.
I bought B11 diesel and if I'm right, I can use power train from that straight to do conversion.
Sounds like another awesome engine project!

Cool! Welcome on the forum! I like what you did with your car except the color... You should have kept the car in Orange, our national color in the Netherlands
Not that we can be proud of the netherlands footballplayers at this moment but ok...
