Didn't think it'll work, but as you can see, it looks like new

Damn it works a treat on your seats too.
I will have to look into that for tidying up my seats.

Took on the right fender today, there was quite a bit of work on this 1 :o

I decided while i was busy i could just as well roll the arch :D it will be lowered quite a bit and don't want the wheels catching the lip and chipping the paint, i did it the best i could, and i think it came out nice.

Here's some pics

Ok, so started with the front suspention today,

Used the complete front shocks/brakes ect from a 91 Mazda 626 16v, the car that donated its engine to my exa  mainly because we had the stuff and the 626 handled very well with the heavy ass FE3 :o and because this project will also get a 2.0 16v engine, Nissan SR20DET W11 8)

There was a bit of modifications needed, but we made it fit

Here is the disk brakes. very nice upgrade and a bonus is that they also have a 4/114pcd :D

This is a very big upgrade compared to stock and i think its deffinatly worth the trouble. Hoping to have very good results

Here's the left side test fitted.

Image

Still have to clean this side, the top pics are the right side i already cleaned

Well done.

Definantly some lateral thinking there! I don't think anyone has tried a Mazda setup on the front yet. Would there be coilovers available "off shelf" for those mazda jiggers? Cos if there were you could bolt them straight in....... :P If that's your thing anyway. Those brakes will be a huge improvement over stock - but you might need a proportioning valve like Callums because of the piston size difference.

Anyway, have you check wheel to caliper clearance? And wheel to strut clearance? These 2 issues caught me...that's why I thought Id ask :)

Good work on spraying it yourself. Its a lot of work (time) but its really not that hard to do - its just boring sanding!! its great to see someone giving it a go.

Anyway it looks great.

Darren.
Race it.

Thanx guys

The SR will be interesting, can't wait.

I had to think of different brakes, not gona make the same mistake like with my exa, leave the brakes stock

I think there will be off shelf coilovers available, theres quite a few mazda's with the same front's, but i want the car to have a soft suspension, mabye one day will look into the coilovers

I just test fitted them to check if everything is 100% so i havn't checked the clearances, thanx for bringing it up.

 yes, and don't get me started on the sanding, no its not hard at all but like you said, its very time consuming :o  but thats the goal with this project, to DIY everything.

Cheerz
