Thanks for the comments.
Now i know why to buy manifold they are $700++ The labour the build the things are huge.

I need a better welder!!! I need more amps to penetrate the flange better. It'll do but could be a lot better. I'm having trouble rotating my turbo. One bolt on the turbine won't budge!! And i've had it off before. There's always one.

Starting work back on the car today. Hopefully it'll be going by this evening. Its going to be another hot 40degree day :( It was 40+ last weekend and spent 3 days in the shed. Ended up getting sick from the heat and took a day to recover.

I'll keep this thread updated with progress photos.

I'll upload some pics soon. I haven't finished yet. The dump pipe was causing all sorts of headaches. But i got it done and the exhaust is done apart from putting the muffler on. I had trouble with rotating the turbo because one bolt wouldn't budge. A ring spanner wouldn't fit so i just grinded one down and got it off. So tomorrows things to do is

finish the rear of the exhaust and fully weld it
Position turbo and connect oil lines
Make a new turbo to intercooler pipe (should be relatively easy)
Make a new air cleaner pipe (also looks easy just a straight piece of pipe)
Fill gearbox and connect dizzy, clutch, speedo cable and battery back up.

Now going by how slowly things have taken (its been 40+ degrees everyday i've worked on the car) it's going to take most of tomorrow, and i really do hope everything gets done but i suspect there will be something that holds me up. Luckily for me its only going to be 30max so it will be much more comfortable working in the tin oven (shed).

Well i didn't get it totally finished to start her up. Have to wait until next weekend now. I did finish the exhaust and intake pipe. The only things i have left to do is the oil drain line, dip stick and intake pipe. Then little things like fill gearbox with oil, battery, dizzy, and bolt the wheels on lol

I probably could have rushed into late this evening but i want to finish it properly and not have to rush (plus need sleep for work 2morrow)

Anyway here are some pics of todays work.

i wish i had a tig welder :( I'm doing all this with an arc and its pretty difficult not to burn holes. The slightest gap in the joins tends to blow holes. But i'm pretty happy with most welds. They can always be grinded back and polished up if i start getting fussy.

You did that with a stick?!?!?!?!?

Wow, there's hope for me yet! I have one with 1mm sticks, might find some scrap and try it out!

Cheers....
