Hello and welcome!

That's a serious engine upgrade! Nice work! Way better than the stock E15S :D

Nice work with the dash, looks like stock but a lot better! :D

Too many details to see at once, there must be an astonishing amount of work behind all this! Thumbs up, great looking car! :D

Regards,
Jan

Nissan exa n12 2.0 16v

Post by EXAMADNESS »

Hi Jan,

That is a serious engine upgrade in comparison with the e15s i agree. I cant even begin to explain the power increase, and no one would expect it from a old little exa(sleeper) thats what i love the most, catching the guys with big exhausts and 1300 motors trying to scare me at the traffic lights(haha)
I didnt want the dash to look like its overdone.
Just the sprayd switches is enough, im going to spray the lining of the air vents silver too, but then im done, ill post pics when im done.and im still looking for exa n12 turbo cluster.
No 5'' gauges on the dash(haha) and its going to stay that way, only the oil press gauge.

There has been alot of work put into this car, youre right
We started in end 2007 and just finished feburary this year because we didnt work on the car everyday, only weekends and i worked on it most nights, and everything was done at home,(it has never seen a tuner).

Thanx for all the nice comments on the reply, and if you have any questions(just ask)

Have a gr8 day
And thanx again.

Hey RZ

Welcome to the club, not enough of us Exa owners on here. I wish I could say mine came close to that. Knowledge is very lacking in the serious areas and can only drive DAMO mad so much.
Very nice drive, some excellent attention to details. Can't wait to here some performance stats as is and then turboed. Very nice job, if all that work was done at home, you should be pretty handy with advice on here as well. I think I have an Exa digital clock in a box downstairs, I'll try and have a look on the weekend and let you know. Anyway, great job and keep us posted.

Cheers,

Glenn

Nissan exa 2.0 16v n12

Post by EXAMADNESS »

Hey there Ash,

Thanx
The engine was from a previous car we had, Mazda 626, the engine just stood in the garage for a long time and then i went and did some reading up on the engine and found that the 2.0 16vFE are realy strong engines, and the exa's engine began to give problems so we thought(what the hell) and did the conversion.
Its an amazing upgrade, only problem is the front springs, they are to weak for the heavy engine. The engine is realy low on the ground, ill take a pic and put it on.
Thanx.

Hi baz,

Thanx, yea they came out with in carb engines, the engine ran reali well for a 8v carb, but the power wasnt there. now it feels like you get slammed into the seat everytime you put your foot down, its awsum.
I will keep you guys posted,

Enjoy your day

Damn, that engine bay's chockers! Is there even any room for a turbo?

And how much more does that donk and tranny weigh? Ride height's prolly gonna be the least of your worries, what with even worse handling...

Those pics showing your ground clearance aren't much chop at all... here you go.

Image

Image

You know what would be an improvement? The tail lights from the four-door Langley you have over there; they look a little BMW-ish... I wouldn't mind a set myself.

As for the gauge cluster, I've got a spare one. Have you looked in For Sale - Parts?

Thanx for the chop, i didnt have the time to chop it 2day, so i just put the pic on.
There is someone one in the for sale parts section that has a cluster so ill let you know if he still has it, otherwise you would be my only hope. 8)
Thanx.

I'd be surprised if there weren't a few available... there's a few cars being parted out there IIRC, and it seems you forgot to consider those threads.
