TurboZ.Dude wrote:Actually, you can't just bolt the N/A gearbox onto an E15ET. You would first have to replace the flywheel since the E15ET uses a differently sized one. The N/A starter would not work with the E15ET flywheel. And the ET starter does not fit a N/A gearbox.
Lol. No offence dude but what u think i am 2years old. Of course i realize that.U still can pritty much bolt the na box on. I bet it shares lots in common with the turbo engine. Expecialy cause it had the jap spec intake no it. But we will see.

negative. Different styles of Starter. Turbo is a reduction unit with a totally different gear ;)

that's a shame but doesn't mean it can't be done ;)
go to your local auto sparky with both types, tell them you want same style but with teeth of an n/a one and they will order it in.

you can get em in pretty much any combo.

Hold on a sec, unless I am mistaken the 4wd boxes are actualy turbo boxes with a transfer case.

That's whit I'm thinking it could be too... Im no pro on gearboxes in any sence, so this is a big learning experience for me, but the E15E and E15ET angines seem to share alot in common. It looks to have the same starter motor and the flywheel looks almost identical.

Sorry m8. I keep doing that to people, it's sort of a bad habit. I'm not trying to pick on you m8, but this following line caused my explanatory reaction (especially the word "doubt"):

No offense intended. I keep misunderstanding people. Also, I assumed (incorrectly) that the gearbox uses N/A internals (starter and flywheel included) since the engine is N/A, and hence the long unnecessary explanation about something you already knew.

Yeah, the starter sure looks like an E15ET one now that you mentioned it photoglossy! Got a photo of the gearbox from another angle? This is getting interesting!

Hmm... well, it at least looks like the E15ET starter.

Anyway, the box looks quite interesting! Can't wait to see that in action! :D

by the looks of that picture the guts will be the same becuse the case the holds all of the gears is the same evan has the same bolt posies.
It looks as though the only chage will be the diff in the box has been moved to allow anouther cog and shaft to attach to.

Even still its not hard to pull the side case of and have a look your self (pics)

Good luck fella

Fark... that baby's dumped in the weeds! Especially the arse...

And I notice the white one has no side indicators... is that a mod, or Kiwi spec?
