whats the go? need help

Post by rattie »

hey guys, my turbo on my car isnt working :(

it started blowing a bit more smoke then usuall, but nothing serious, then today i gave it a bit and boost wouldnt come on. the turbo doesnt seem to be working. i checked my standard ecu and the plugs, and i checked the air flow meter, all seems good there.

i can start the car,and it runs ok, doesnt idle the best, but goes.

is my turbo stuffed?

thanks

Hey Dude,
Maybe, but not if you're lucky. Take the turbs off and tip it upside down and give it a shake. This happened to me a long time ago. Ya know that little exhaust divider everyone grinds down? With age it becomes all fuct up and little pieces break off and fall into the turbo. I was lucky, it happened at idle and did no damage.

Good Luck.

yeah sounds like a leak to me from that... check the pipes/hosing between the turbo and throttle body ...

or could be your actuator...

def sounds like the shaft isnt spinning = rooted turbo

take off your inlet piping and try spin the compressor!
I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense.
