will a turbo timer happilly go into my wrx without the immobiliser chucking a fit? My model has a transponder in the key. Was thinking it might not like having the key switched off and taken out and still be running

unfortunately transponder style immobilisation systems can vary vastly car to car.
You are better off looking for a WRX forum or getting it wired up pro if you have doubts.. (that way if they break it they have to fix it!)

follow the instructions it came with or look up on google for some instuctions and wire away, it wil not affect your immobiliser
Project is now finished!
