Microtech ECU remapping

Post by xr6eta »

Just out of interest does anyone know how much Microtech charge to have the e15 base map installed on an ECU that has previously been fitted to something else. Does it vary from model to model.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Just another quick question while we're at it. When buying an ECU, be it new or 2nd hand do they come with the plugs out of the ECU and wiring to hook into your own or do you need to have plugs made up to suit the ECU and your wiring. Really keen to start looking around.

One MT-8 I bought came with a cut loom. it was cut off about 25mm from the main plugs.

Another one has nothing, just a bare ecu.

When you buy them new, they will come configged and loaded with a rough running map for your engine.
They will come with an undressed loom that you will have to add plugs and wire into your own car.

Way it is.

Some of the manufacturers are now making complete dressed harnesses for different cars but you will find the are limited to things like RB Skylines, Evo's, WRX's and so-on.

getting a dressed loom made = BIG money.
