haha. That is an interesting shot.

Did it clunk on startup or when you back off from accelerating??

Were you having starter engaugement problems during cranking?

Because that is a LOT of end float on the crank......I have never pulled apart an engine with that much movement. Closely inspect that crank for abnormal wear! Looks like you got to it just in time!

Good to see - keep up the technical detail I really appreciate it. And your english is fine, probably better than mine :)

the engine cranking and startup good .but for "back off from accelerating" i don't know because i've never drive the car   .yes i have a little work on crankshaft but only for fix this movement the other things are good.

already inspected mate :D but is too hard for me to explain all things and all problems in english.

ok mate give me idea.i want to buy a oil temperature gauge and i think about where to put the OT sensor.is the crankcase good place?

ok for now the movement of crankshaft can't be fixed.but i'll ceep trying
so i buy othe crankshaft but it's of 1.3l cherry
same sizes but it's weak then a e15et shaft
i'll show you the difference
but because i have no choice for now i'll use it and see how much power it will stand

down e15et/up the other

here is about 7mm difference

and 2 problems with cyl.block
one is that it was visible after grind
Image

and the other problem are cylinders-they are some like a cone and i must grind it and put new pistons
up i cylinder ,clearance between piston and cylinder is 0.12mm
and down i cylinder ,same clearance is 0.06mm

Ouch, not nice to find a large crack like that in the block after grinding. :(

A bit worried about the E13 crank though... may cause considerable damage to the engine if it breaks!

well,an engine is like a woman as far as stripping.you never khow what to expect! the findings maybe good or...
good luck with it Martin.i don't like seeing things like these in an engine like ET but maybe poor maintenance and lot of boost caused them.

the e15et crankshaft is heavyer then e13 with about 1.3kg

Oh well, might rev a bit quicker at least ; )

Sorry to come in a little late on the coversation, but you realize that you will be dropping capacity going to the E13 crank? It has a 3mm shorter throw on the crank, and it 'should' run longer rods by that same 3mm (over N/A length anyway).
Measure it up first, as you may find you end up with a 1.3ltr engine running 6:1 compression.

oh, damo is right of course!
i have always thought the e13 has the same stroke but smaller bore diameter, but it is the other way around, indeed....

so, if you have no chance of getting your hands on a spare e15et-crank, you should find at least some e15s cranks, as they were put in nissan prairies as well.
has anyone here made experiences with a N/A crankshaft on the turbo engine?

ok so maybe the crank that i have IS of e15s because i'm 99% sure that the stroke is the same i'l check it one more time tommorow
but from shop told me that the crank is from 1.3l
but they maybe don't know because is the secondhand

i check and the stroke is the same of 2 shafts
maybe is from e15s

Yes. Its what Im using. I converted an NA engine.
No difference. Put it together and dont stress about it.

Nissan cranks have a good reputation for strength, and I don't see the N/A version of the E15 being not capable. Never heard of a E15 damaging a crank.......ever!
The 'litre class' circuit cars rev to 10-11k rpm on OEM cranks.

when i look the cranks and the way that nissan made them i think that the shafts are forget but i'm not sure
