New Rocker cover **** SPOILER ALERT ****

Post by Valentich »

I know this really should not be in this section,
but I thought that some people might be interested.

I was going to wait until it is finished, but I could not resist. LOL

I will post a complete set of photos showing all the steps later.

But for now, here's a spoiler

Image

In pic,
I just sprayed it with primer, that's why it looks wet.
I have to spend sometime sanding it now.
But should be finished in a few days

Looks the goods. I still got piping running through that dip on both my ET's, otherwise I'd have a go at something like this.

I'd be a little concerned of the bond between the metal and the composite once it starts doing regular heat cycles. Hopefully you prepared it all properly before doing it though. Prep work makes all the difference on something like this.

I got someone else to do mine, had to get it put in an acid bath for a while, get all the old paint off. Be cool to see how yours comes up.

Got a coat of paint on it.
Going to wait a week before cutting it back and clearing it.

Coming along nicely if I do say so myself.

It should handle the heat,
It gets hot, but not that hot,
In theory, if the paint can handle the heat,
then the fibre glass will have no problem.

But time will tell.
