E10 Petrol In N12 Pulsar?

Hi everyone,
Just wanting to know, can E10 go straight into an N12 with no hassles?

I've been running "Premium" E10 for quite a while, no difference noted between that and premium unleaded.

I'd assume the rubber components of the fuel system aren't up to it...

It'll work fine for a while, until your fuel filter gets clogged with bits of dissolved fuel system.

I'd avoid it simply cause it has a lower energy density.

Ah OK. I was just a bit worried because I don't know about everywhere else but down my way their deleting Unleaded from the pumps!
So, it's better off to use Premium instead?

Given our cars weren't designed to be used with ethanol fuel AFAIK, then I'd say it's not a good idea... IIRC, all rubber in the fuel system must be silicone instead of butyl or whatever.

And if yours is a turbo, you're definitely better off using premium.

If not, you can still get a little extra from Shell's and BP's premium juice I think, cause they have a tad bit more energy density... but you'd be paying for octane rating you don't need; may not be worth it

The degradation of rubber components isn't really an issue with such a small amount of ethanol mixed in with petrol. 10% really isn't going to do a lot of damage. Sure if it was E85, then there would be cause for concern. If you think about it 10% ethanol equates to 4 Litres (or less) per tank of fuel.

If I remember correctly, there was a rather large thread on this not too long ago.

So if it takes two months to fuck your shit with pure ethanol, it'll take 20 months with E10.

Nahhhh dun quite work that way.
Its mostly an issue with E85 and most recently manufactured EFI/fuel hose is Ethanol tolerant.
