Need help! too short rods.

Post by beldin34 »

Hi.
I ordered custom rods to my e15et, but somehow they got it wrong and i got rods that are 122mm long instead of 137mm.
Is there any way to use these? with any nissan crank or block?

If they got it wrong, isnt it there responsibility to replace them with ones that you ordered?

Even if i get new rods it´s about 10 weeks delivery time and by then the summer is over.

Before you get too bent out of shape, where exactly are you measuring the rods to/from to get 122mm? I would find it hard to belive that a machine shop would be careless enough to make rod that are 15mm short!!

Rod length is measured from centre of the piston pin to centre of bigend, not from the top edge of the big end to the top edge of the piston pin!

How big is the piston pin and the big end?

I gotta ask this. Why did you source such high end clobber when the stock rods are more than adequate and dont break???
They are steel and well made and have no history of breakage even at obscene rpm's.

But E if I use these rods I can turn the boost up to 25 and go really really fast lol.

Seriously though bud, the stock rods are super good and you would never make enough power to break them.

Yes stock is strong but when you go past 42psi you need something stronger.

A few pics.

 pics
they really seem to be made for the e13-engine, because the e13 rods have 121,5mm center distance and e13 is written
on the drawing (who needs rods that tough for that engine?)
