Sorry M8, it just aint that easy.raiz wrote:the thing is ive got turbo pistons pocketed already in a stroker e15s with a standard height head on there. My compression isnt that high yet but it goes well. Im half way already and want an e15et at least!!!
The turbo pistons are the same as atmo jobs...sorry, you have nothing special there.
The compression is lowered by shorter conrods in the ET engine.
You have a stroked crank with stock head and piston deck height which means you have raised your compression ratio quite a bit about the 9 point something to 1 stock CR.
You should know this as a matter of course.
Sadly M8, your nowhere near "there". With that stroker engine, youre actually "further" away than a dead stock carb engine.
I have to say this M8, your asking questions that tell me you probably dont know enough about these things to do this job on your own.
Perhaps you need to do a heap of research on this topic before embarking on this project.
Stard reading.
If you find yourself an E15et engine, and you must insist on using a carb, you can dodge it up using a stock carb manifold and then suck thru one of those Dells.
However, id suggest you sell the dells. and use that money to source an ET engine.
Your carbs and manifold are worth a shitload more than an entire ET engine.
They are around, you just have to find them. There are a handful of guys from S.A that frequent this forum.
Look them up in the "Members" section and see what they know.
Or, ask very nicely in the "wanted" section of this forums calssifieds for a set of ET conrods.
That way, you get the correct items and postage will be minimal just for a set of rods. A couple of kilos weight at most.
Cmon M8, help yaself here yer?

ah Evan, he's in South Africa not South Australia. i'd say an E15ET engine might be a bit harder to find over there? and in saying that, Raiz, have you contacted the other South African members yet? if you haven't, i think you should! they might be able to tell you where you can source an E15ET engine?
or maybe know of a turbo langley for sale? either way. the more people you associate with closer to you, the better chance of finding what you want! and getting good help!
cheers man,
Ash
