*URGENT* My fuel cap wont open
ok, its an 84 exa with both a push down button next to drivers seat and a key, and i pushed it down and nothing, then i tried to open it and it wont. So like im on a 1/4 of a tank and is going to need to get in their some how, does anyone possibly have a spare lid if i brake mine or yea CAN ANYONE HELP ME ON THIS ONE?
'cos most locks are stuck.missET wrote:why doesn't it work with a key? its just a simple latch
U could remove the driver side? trunk trim panel and get the locking mechanism pulled with pliers or some. or just force it open with a screwdriver (use some cloth to protect your paintwork)
or everytime u need to "fill 'er up" u could remove the trunk carpet, unbolt the protecting plate and fuelpump/gauge assembly and use the hole there......

Tried squirting some wd40 in the keyhole? Or get someone to push the trap in, while you press the button inside the car so that the pressure is released from the catch. then lubricate it.

there is a secondary release leaver for both the hatch and the fuel filler.
if you take out the rear stock speaker on the drivers side and put you arm in there and feel around you should be able to find the cable, trace your hand along it towards the rear. you'll come across a little plastic feeling thing, push/pull that or pull the cable cover.
I cant remember which to push/ pull... but you should work it out.
