Universal central locking

Hey guys, I found this today:

Is it worth the money or just a POS kit? Shipping is free (and it takes 3 weeks to arrive in Finland due to the distance).

Those seem fine...
but I'm the type that like to walk in to a shop... see what I am buying first....
I have fitted 100's of these types of kits in my past (before all modern cars got central door locking)
here is some hints....
First make sure the lock moves freely... if not... dry lube it up...
The main problems happen when the actuators have to strain to move...
they can be piss weak in cheaper kits...
always try to keep the rod straight (in line) with the movement.
Again, in some of the cheaper kits, the control box wont deliver enough current to switch the actuator..
The fix we used to use was wiring up 2x87a relays to open and close the actuators.....
But all in all... take your time and it will all work out....
and it is so cool to be able to open the doors like this.....
SO cool.
For the Prairie. I got an auto start alarm...
It will start the Prairie. open and close the doors. it also closes the window and sunroof......
I am a lazy fuck .....LOL

If the car is left in the sun (and this is a problem I think you don't have in Finland) on a 40 deg day.
The windows will open 2cm and the blower turns on for a few minutes....
Its probably totally useless...
But I have seen melted CD's in cars...
and its just one of those things..... I just can... so I will... LOL
PS just curious... What intercooler did you end up deciding on?

I think you're mixing me up with somebody else. I haven't even built my E15ET yet.
Anyway, thanks for the advice! I hope the actuators are strong enough, so I don't need to start messing with relays...

The only thing I hate about these kits is the loud thud they make when locking and unlocking. Otherwise they make life easier for sure.

Alright, the kit arrived! And delivery time was 2 weeks minus one day, more than a week faster than last time I ordered something from China!
Going to start fitting the kit today or tomorrow, have you got any tips for placement of the actuators? The kit didn't come with any manual but a DIY guy doesn't need a manual.
I've already tested the kit, it works. I plugged the main power to an ATX power supply and plugged in two actuators to the central locking wiring harness. Tried the remote controls (there are two of them), both work perfectly and the actuators operate! No problems whatsoever, not bad considering the price and especially considering that shipping was free and the package was slightly crushed in the process.

The only tip I haver is to ensure that the actuators are pulling as best you can inline with the locking rods it attaches to.
And make sure that the actuators are securely mounted and wont fall off.

Make sure the actuators are lined up as best you can. I'd even make brackets to position them in line if they were needed.
Linear actuators are (surprisingly) "Linear". They don't really like to push/pull at an angle, especially the cheaper made ones.
Other than that the only other thing would be to, maybe, place some plastic over them so they are protected somewhat from dust and moisture, doesn't seem to matter how good the window seals are on our cars always manage to end up with water inside my doors during a heavy rain.
Are you just going to keep the 2 unused actuators as spare Jan, or are you going to wire them up to open say boot and fuel filler cap?
