So I went to install my new struts and CMS disks on Saturday and after getting the car up on chassis stands and taking the wheels off I came accross something un-nerving - the calipers both had N13 Pulsar written on the in typical Wreckers Pink Paint Pen. It kind of made me pretty happy, but at the same time not so happy as I knew that the struts and disks wouldn't fit.
So after a quick whip around with the verniers it seems that most of the front suspension hardware is N13. Disks, struts, CV's, in fact even the plate that bolts to the chassis the holds the bottom of the rotor has N13 written on it.
So bit of a cool find, means I can just use stock N13 CV's and stuff. The downside is that my struts and brakes I was ready to put on won't fit.

Ah well, they're for sale now.

your struts will fit but no, your n12 rotors wont fit n13 calipers.
get gtir rotors and calipers... they will bolt on

the struts will fit without an issue

Well, I thought they would at first too ....
They are the same height.
Same spring diameter.
Same distance between bolts top and bottom.
BUT
The foot of the strut is nearly 10mm wider on the inside for the N13. (That is where the brake assembly slots into the strut foot)

Bummer hey?

strange,, the guy i bought the conversion kit off used n12 struts with n13 hubs.
i'd get a couple of spacer plates cut out so you can use the coilovers...

Yeah, that's the more common way to do it. Then you have to use N13 CV's with the N12 outer though I think. Ahh, I can't remember it's been years. But I know there was some work around to it.
But this mob have just used N13 everything.

Poo.
Maybe there's different hub n struts on an N13.
All my engine and g/box hardware came from an N13 Exa front cut, maybe that's where the struts came from too. Dunno.
My disks are vented, how about the ones you have? Maybe that makes a difference.
I'll get some photos of the 2 side by side if I get a chance this week.

ren man, be aware that you will need to either redrill ur strut tower to suit n13 struts OR if its possible swap the hats over..

sorry i thought u had coilovers, but if its just struts then u may as well :P
OR get gtir coilovers ;)

I'm gonna have to get the down-lo from you on MSN about all this. my strut tops look OK so I get the N12 hats have been fitted.
Coilovers would be sweet though.
