Yea its the RB20DET-R of one of the hr31's

The CAMS regs stated that the group A cars must be fitted with the factory electronic sensors for the engine....It didnt say it had to work, hence why it is stuck to the strut tower. The rules were fairly loose in some respects and very much open to interpretaion. Many racing teams of the era used this to advantage, Gibson Motorsport included.

I have a very interesting M8 that lives just down the road here.
He has worked as engineer and pit manager for nearly every top line Group C touring car team known to man.
Fill him with piss and sit back and enjoy the show!!!!!

Some of the shenanigans that went on in those days has to be seen to be believed.
Including the hand fabricated IRS arse end in the DR30's! and oversize pistons in a lot of the V8's on one bank since the scrutineers only ever measured one side of the engine.
OMG hes' a seriously interesting dude to chat to!!!!
He calls me "digital man" bwaaahahahahahahah!

Looking at those images brought out a warm and fuzzy feeling in me untill I clocked the Talbot straight six engine which almost brought me to tears!!
Damn, look at the engineering (sighs) they dun make them like that anymore.................
