Surge tank pictures

Post by RoadRacing »

Hi everyone!

Could you please post images of your surge tanks.

I'm putting turbo to my N12 and replacing carburattor with injection.

I was thinking putting it under the hood.

Then I could use old fuel lines from tank.

I think adding more fuel holdings under the bonnet sounds dangerous to me, but I am no surge tank king..

Look online at race car's.

they all in boot..

Jus google image surge tank setup. See some mad ones. I can't remember how big the hole is for the stock pump, but I've thought of just putting a 3 inch or so pipe surrounding the pump. Would eliminate surge for how most drive an et..... Many things should come before pending cash on surge setups, if you have an et and wanna stay legal and somewhat safe it must be under the car or under the bonnet..... Can't see why you couldn't fit under bonnet. But I am a firm believer in do a job do it right, and to do that keeping in mind you changing to injection the cash would be better spent elsewhere

My n12 have mechanical pump so there is no pump in tank and I don't want weld the original tank.

I just need e16 rods, cometic head gasket, exhaust manifold, fuel pump, surge tank and MS and we ready to go :)

Oh ok my bad didn't pay enough attention, I would place it under the floor near the horizontal plane of the wheels away from the exhaust..... So you don't rip it off on a wicked speed hump

If it is the factory mechanical pump you are referring to, it is completely useless in a EFI application.
You should source a N12 turbo fuel tank and pump. The tank has a built in baffle (swirl pot), and the pump.... well... its an EFI pump!
