just needing some help with the manifold

Post by Spicymouse »

I've just put on a jap spec manifold and i have a few questions.
1st picture...what do these plug in to are they needed?
other pictures does it look like I've plugged everything in correctly?
finally how to i find out the injector plug order? might have them wrong as the car will turn over 1 in 3 try's and when it starts it runs for a 10 seconds but then dies..

that was ny old jap spec, u must of got it off tim, the two lil black ones i wouldnt worry about, ones ment to go to the vac ports on ur throttle body im not too sure where the other one went, and the big on one that back of the manifold is an additional fittment welded in for an aftermarket idle up valve for when u have an after market ecu u lose ur standard idle valve, so the valve was used to bring the idle up when the fans kick in and the lights on at night time, or any other thing that puts load on the engine at idle.... so just bung it off

Your idle up motor isn't plugged in. Your engine will run for 10 seconds on post start enrichment, then die as there is not cold idle bypass happening.

Did you rotate the tps? Also are you using the stock injectors? If your using the CA18 ones I think you need the ecu tuned to suit.

Chuck the stock injectors in and go from there.

I went back to your Members Rides thread and m8, take those CA injectors out and replace them with the stockers, wire up switched 12v to your idle compensating valve (its already there in the stock loom, used to connect to the stock idle copensator valve) and it will run sweet.

Save those injectors for a tuneable ECU and a rainy day coz they are not worth dick with the stock ECU/AFM setup.
Way it goes.
