since i was tearing down the top end a friend helpfully suggested I replace the timing belt while I was at it, "Sure, that sounds like a great plan", says I. so after ordering the belt and gubbins I realise that I now have to remove the flywheel pulley to get at the tensioner which is hidd...

enlighten the noob. Removing the inlet manifold with engine still in. 8 nuts. 6 are reasonably easy, 4 on top, easily accessed with ring spanner. 2 at each end. now, the 2 nuts that sit directly under the inlet manifold, only way I found was to use a super long extension bar with a 12mm socket, get ...

Thanks again guys. I have the workshop manual so will refer to that. I'm really hoping for no nasty surprises but considering the way the engine was running before it had it's little meltdown I'm also preparing myself for the worst, hence the shoutout for a spare engine. I have to rip out the passen...

s-cargo head gasket replacement
I had planned on replacing the head gasket on my s-cargo with the engine in-situ. Is this the best way of going about it or am i better of trying to get the engine out? Only reason I ask was I noted that the Oracle posted up on Facebook for one of the other guys working on the head that it was the h...

How much hotter is/was the engine running? The engine has always seemed to run hot but that said the temperature gauge in the cluster has NEVER gone above halfway, even when it blew the radiator it wasn't looking near the danger levels... I'm starting to doubt the accuracy of it. Good mechanic in p...

s-cargo engine troubles.
back again, with some more s-cargo related questions my S-Cargo has developed some strange issues and I'm really chasing a mechanic to have a look at it. If someone could recommend a decent mechanic in Perth, South of the river that would be great. At the moment I'm looking to go to De Rosa Auto rep...

I realise this is n12 TURBO and I'm posting up details about an n12 NON-turbo, but I can't find anywhere else online more appropriate, plus I'm already a member here. I want to stick up this info so that other poor non-turbo e15 engined people don't have to go through the bs that I've just been thro...

OooOo! That looks like a pretty fair cross section of colours. and while we are on the loom making subject... what about heatshrink breakout boots? I've tried going through RSComponents and Element14 but unless you know EXACTLY what you are looking for (and in this case they are somewhat obtuse in t...
