Flow bench

I have calibrated and re-tested my slightly ported E15ET head. Cylinder 4 has had a bit more working over than the others with the valve guides ground away, and the ports lightly worked on. The other 3 will be modded in the future to see what results I can achieve with differing methods. I will also...

Flow bench

Well,CRAP!!! I semi completed a comprehensive post yesterday regarding my DIY flow bench, but the draft didn't save, so this is the short version with the figures. (Caveat, all these figures should be treated as a rough guide only not to be compared to other figures obtained through other sources, b...

Short stroke/high rev E16?

I had spoke in the past about a long rod combo with ga slugs. The idea being that the E15 rods are indeed 3mm longer (140.5mm centre to centre) v's the E15T AND E16 (137.5mm centre to centre). With this 3mm extra crown height, a swap to a flat top GA piston which has 3mm lower pin to crown distance ...

Turboing E16i block?

Hi Martin There is no reason you can't turbo the E16, but as you have already stated, there is no oil feed (which you can definitely rectify with a Tee off the oil pressure switch), you will however, need to have an oil return path. From memory, there is a boss on the front of the engine which can b...

Hey guys.
As Evan has said, a tuner with half and idea should be able to tune nearly anything.
Unless you have someone local who is prepared to tune something different to the microleb, stick it out. Just be prepared for non factory running when cold and down low.

Fuck that, you can buy a vrs kit for almost that.
I had a quick squiz on ebay, but there doesn't seem to be anything cheapish that fits my search criteria. Might have to look at the dimensions of the valve and guide to get a generic replacement.

Good luck Martin

Hey mate, I had the exact same experience quite a few years ago. I put it down to shit chinese seals. I replaced them with a genuine set I had floating around. They are meant to be quite a tight fit.

Gotta love collecting the bits from projects past. BTW, throw one of those rods on a scale, would be interesting to know if they have been lightened.

Hey Matt, as for strength between the turbo and non turbo, you are probably correct in assuming that the turbo is stronger, but for all intents and purposes they are both 'bullet proof'. The biggest ceiling you will come across will be a rev limit of the OE gear. Wether you are using the E15, E15T o...
