Problems with my stock 1985 N12 Pulsar + potential turbo?
yep, he is right, no ecu means no CAS. I think you have the transistorized inductive ignition then. 4 toothed trigger wheel, right? As far as I know these systems, there is no external module involved. All the electronics sits in the distributor pickup module. https://www.autozone.com/repairguides/N...

Problems with my stock 1985 N12 Pulsar + potential turbo?
this sounds like the setup i mentioned before then. (no ecu-> carburetor, TSZ-i ignition)
Is there a vaccum advance actuator on your distributor?

Problems with my stock 1985 N12 Pulsar + potential turbo?
Hey,
wow, your N12 sounds like a good find!
This sounds similar to the faulty CAS (cam angle sensor)problem, which the ECU-equipped N12s are experiencing now and then.
But I guess you have carburated engine and a TSZ-i style ignition right? Whats your engine code, E15S, E16i?
Cheers!
Martin

Turboing E16i block?
Yip, :-) they are Japan-made and were specified for the USA-E15ET engine (pulsar nx) I compared them to the Nissan OEM EUR-spec pistons, see photo. 20180620_190709k.jpg The design and the main dimensions are basically the same, only the witdth of the crown ring seems to differ a bit. I will check fo...

Turboing E16i block?
Thanks Damo, Sorry, I didn't go into detail enough. Though your E16 info is interesting, I will only use the block(and that only because of the low mileage) - the rest, like crankshaft and pistons, will be E15ET parts. I was very lucky to find a set of std-size E15ET pistons on the internet incl. ri...

Turboing E16i block?
Hey guys, i can get my hands on a mint E16i engine from a Nissan N13. It only has 30.000km (granny car) and i thought about using this block to build up a nice e15et from it. FAST says, the E16i block isn't the same as the E15S block. I reckon its because the E16i may have a knock sensor. Any other ...

Howdy! Long time no see; I'm the original administrator and currently host the website and forum on my shared web hosting provider. I'm considering migrating to a new provider at some point and it prompted me to check whether this site is still being used or not. I notice there is still some recent...
