hey buddy , you need to undo the three phillips head screws that hold the door lock/catch mechanism and then allow it to fall down inside the door low enough for the rod to disengage from the lock/catch mechanism.undo the two 10 mm nuts securing the outer handle, Once you have done this, you can then gently manipulate the outer door handle with rod attached out through the hole (adjusting the angle of the outer handle and rod while you are drawing it out.

good luck, just be patient and remember, if you force it, well you know.. f@#k :)

I don't pull em out with the rods attached; I just undo the little clips holding them into the handles.

I don't have large hands, but it's still a bitch of a job...

Wait, what?

Pretty sure where the rods end there are plastic bushes that clip onto the rods, just like on my doors, and every other door I've ever worked on.

Baaahahahaha Uniquen12, those little bushes ARE also clips and you have to release them BEFORE you pull the rods out of the bushes!!!!

no clips on n12 handles , rod fits in hole and is held in position by two "fingers" which are part of the casting of the exterior handle.

It was like three weeks ago I unclipped one of these plastic clips.

On my N12.
