ctchme's Exa
hey again guys, a bit of an update, i ended up maxing the 850cc injectors, so have ordered some bigger ones, would have never thought id need bigger, but going for some 1300cc injectors. Have upgraded the fuel pump to a bosch 040 in tank pump, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, set at approximately 45 psi.
Anyway, will upload some pics later when i get my camera working properly lol

I'm going to ask the obvious question. At what HP level did you max out those injectors? Maybe you maxed them out because you dropped fuel pressure, but tried to wind more duty cycle into them? which would explain the fuel pump upgrade.
850cc would be enough to support over 450HP from our engines....over 100HP/cyl which is damn impressive I must say.
Darren.

If your pump will only flow 120kw, you can put any sized injectors you like behind it, and it will only make 120kw!
You are maxing the standard pump.
If you like though, ill give you a 20 for the injectors you are replacing.

yeah it was running e85, duty cycle was at roughly 85% with 10psi, as i dont have an intercooler yet, i am using the fuel's natural cooling properties and higher octane to prevent pre detonation, and to achieve that, you are correct, i had dialed the pressure down. And thanks for the offer but the old injectors arent for sale, they are goin on my mx5 lol

Just a bit of quick calculating
E85 makes around 100kw per litre of fuel flow.
A E15 with the mods you have listed running 10psi would be making 110-120kw max! 1.2ltr x .85 / 4 = 350cc injectors @ 85%. Far from the 850 or even 550cc injectors you have stated. You would have to have your base fuel pressure set at 16psi (20psi below standard) to drop even the 550's to 360cc!
Something doesn't add up.
Are you sure your pump isn't shagged?
