Another Ken Block Vid
adf
Hahaha. Thats a great vid.
But he trashes the car. As he does when he rallies them.
Did you see him hit that concrete wall under power slide? If he did that in a rally, that would be more likely to rip out the rear suspension or flick the car over.
He is probably an excellent speedway driver given his style in my opinion.

Cmon, your not asked to believe that these KB vids are anything else but advertisements with the entire sequence of tests setup and rehearsed and who cares how many times it took to complete a task in the vid, or even if several unsuccessful attempts of the same tests were simply edited together to achieve the shot.
They are pure and simple 2 dimensional entertainment, nothing more and nothing less. You just sit there and be entertained. You dont need to think nor need to scrutinise the drivers talent/lack of talnet or how many times it took to succefssfully complete each test.
In a way, its like watching cartoons . Just pure entertainment.
Is why it was posted!!

There is no doubt that the vid is entertaining, but personally, I don't think a whole lot of his talent over any other top end motorsport driver, there is definitly specific car control which comes from the rally scene, but nothing that anyone in rally worth their salt couldn't do.
The problem is that youtube is like a forum, and the young gullible blokes watch stuff like this and think he is a God among men. Then you get the guys that poo poo Block's talent because of the false 'reputation' that is born through the www. And every time he puts a foot wrong, there will be that many more cameras there to catch it.

I dont stop for even one second to contemplate, the car, the driver, his shoes or the paint job on the car. Nor do I care if Block, Loeb, Raikonnen one of you blokes or joe bloggs drives.
I dont care one iota what make the car is, how much horsepower it makes, what kind of turbocharger it has or the fuel it uses. i dont give a shit about how much torque it makes not what the rev limiter is set at nor am I the slightest bit interested in the compound of rubber in the tyres not what brand of piston rings used.
The vids do for me precisely as they were intended. They ENTERTAIN!
Pure and simple 2 dimensional entertainment!
Got me rooted how there is some blah about wherether Ken Block is good enough or not for WRC or whether the car was specifically constructed for Auto Gymkhana or just an everyday rally car lowered to drift......... Dont care!
Entertainment is the key and is why the vid link was posted.
Cheers

Monster Rally Team - Gymkhana World Tour
Apparently a "free" event at Calder Park, but people who want to attend need to go into a ballot to get tickets.Monster World Rally Team Blog wrote:Block’s third, and final, stop of the 2011 Gymkhana World Tour will be taking place in Melbourne, Australia on September 3rd. In the meantime, you can catch him competing at Summer X Games 17 and at next month’s WRC Germany event.
