Just wondering if the 2 wires coming off the gearbox are the speed sensor wires?? and if they are, am i able to put a digital speedometer on them??

speed sensor on 84 exa
If you are referring to the two wire switch on the passenger side, it is the reversing switch.
The N12 E15 has no speed sensor. You can screw a speed sensor into the speedo drive. It looks like it should take a generic digital sensor. I know a 7MGTE one should fit.

If that is the case I am more than happy to be corrected, but I have never seen it called anything other than an on off, non pulsing switch.
