anyone thought about gti-r rack? that would be the way to go cause then you would have a nice tight and firm power steering like most sports cars and not some sloppy old crap that you have no idea were your wheels are a when you dont have traction

Intermediate shafts

Post by Callumgw »

Steering conversion going well... but...
can someone confirm that n12 Astras actually had power steer?
and even better, anyone know where I can get the intermediate shaft (between steering rack ans steering column) for one?
Any help appreciated,
cheers,

I saw about eight at pick-a-part in Cambellfield....none had PS, all were manual steer. even the n12 astra's I saw....

most of the n13 have power racks, so if we can bet the intermediate shaft things will go well. Otherwise it'll need fabricating, which isn't easy for most people.
