Oil in water

Post by et_rider »

good evening all
i Just went to top up my coolant and found that upon lifting the cap off there was alot of oil on the cap and in the coolant.

Know i have just recently dont a turbo swap due to the other one ending its life..

Know when i redid the sump gasket i found that there was some coolant and oil leaking out of the oil cooler, can this be the cause maybe as i have just recenltly done the head so im hopeing its not that

when you put the refurb head on did you put NEW headbolts with washers in? and were they correctly tensioned?

its probably something really simple or its just leaning out

Yer see i wanted to but at 80 bucks a pop from nissan i couldnt fund it so i got second hand ones from pulsar parts, witch whol said that second hand ones were fine and i had clean smooth washers in as well...........
and the tension was smak on with a referbished torqe ranch as i thought that may have been an issue in the past

I reckon I'd always go new bolts. I re-used some a long time ago on a old V8 I fixed up and had probs with the tensioning. Learnt my lesson right there.
