If you have an Exa, you can piff this little bracket off and have the brace's foot go all the way around the top of the strut.

And when I looked at some ETs at the meet, I couldn't see why you can't just use an Exa bonnet brace on your ET, which would then allow you to piff off that bracket.

This is a good point.
It was one of the first things I did when I got my Pulsar home - I took the bonnet support from the Exa and stuck it on the Green Machine.
Mostly because I HATE the way it twists the whole bonnet, it must really give the hinges the shits.

Having this mounting ring in a full circle will have almost bugger all effect unless you are prepared to extend the tube bracing much further around the circumference of the ring.

A lot of work for little, if any gain.
Why bother?

Actually, you could cut the circle off at that point because the back portion doesn't seem to do anything, once the thing has been braced like mine.

Interesting..... i really like the look of that battery re-location isolation (marine) switch and strut brace on that awesome EXA turbo you showed earler.. Also that engine bay is sweet as it has the EGI manifold that only 3 people have on their cars... cool.. Oh.. btw that is mine.. heheheheh. nice writeup callum, i'm gonna do a similar thing with mine as its definately not stiff enough and will eventually fatigue.

Yeah, pinched them from the web when I was talking off line with BTR. Did the pictures up to show what I was on about before I actually modd'd mine.

How would things go if we welded up the pivot points on the BTR strut brace?
1. Cut a hole in a box 2. Put your junk in that box 3. Make her open the box

be hard to adjust, so you'd better be certain it's right...

the exa bonnet strut is annoying - it's in the way.
i pulled it off and installed an n13 one which fits into the other bracket :)
