REVIVAL!
It has been a while since anyone posted in this thread and I have a new toy thanx to a fatter than expected tax check.
I have been obsessed (and I mean really bad) with Suzuki Katanas since that dodgy old knight rider rip off show back in the late 80's. Specifically the 84/85 GSX750SE version .... that's the one that had the pop up headlight and was the only one with a full floater mono shock rear.
So i got this for $1700 - nice strong fresh engine, painted frame, GSXR front end (giving it a slightly bigger rake) All she needs is a bit of fibre glass repair and paint.
Ain't she so beautifully UGLY?

Actually, a nice thread dig!
I thought Id update.
I sold my old 500 Honda and replaced it with a 2009 Kawasaki KLR650.
It had barely 1100k's on it and had fell lightly on its side. Cost me $3500 as repaireable writeoff and $1000 later this is what it is:
Only mod is a White Bros race pipe. A really tough exhaust note but too loud really! Its pretty ponderous off road and only suits well used trails but spectacularly good on road. I love it!
Just a recap pix of my old faithful beast. One of the rarest Ducati "Square case bevels" made. 1980 900SSD. The photo says it all:
Lastly, I found a pix of my old race bike. A Mk9/11 Bultaco Pursang 370. Its a hybride of a Mk9 Pursang engine and front end on a Mk11 frame
I bought this thing new back in 1974 and raced it successfully. However, it resulted in a smashed leg and subsequent near death due to a blood clot after a crash into Mallee scrub in the 1978 BP desert rally.
Drifted away from dirt bike racing after that for some reason, but to this day, I still occasionally pull that old bike out, fuel it up and give it a bash up and down the property!
These scanned pix date back to 1976. No body armour, padding and shit back then. Leather pants and a footy jumper!
We were men and when we came off, we just sucked it up put the dislocated parts back in, wiped up the blood and kept going!!!! You dirt bike pussies now look like Stormtroopers from Starwars with all your girly looking armour. Softcocks!
Ahhhh the good old days!

Well, except for the front wheel. Have to strip the red off and paint the centre silver. And it has a muffler on now too.

Yeah, but you can't get the decals anymore, and silver is yuck.
Plus there was no use trying to make it look stock with the wrong front end and GSXR guages etc. And I'm trying to talk an old bloke into selling me his original that is totally unmolested. That one I might do back to stock specs.
