hey E, any updates?
I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense.

Well, the engines still in mule form atm.

The car is being setup to accdept this thing and its a big job.

Its had a Camira center pickup power steering rack fitted and new custom struts made up from the original Mustang stubs, Commodore struts loaded with adjustable Koni inserts with coilovers. Really nifty bit of adapting i gotta say.

The strut towers have to be scalloped out to make room for the headers....those fucking headers are about 2" and thats just the primaries.

Once this is done, the engine bay gets detailed, painted and the engine will be built proper.

Ill take some pix when theres more meaningful shit to see!!!!

Been a while since this animal was concieved. There has been an enormous amount of work done to both engine and chassis and would take the rest of the forum storage to describe but most of this effort has not resulted in a lot of meaningful VISUAL progress.

The list of mods to the chassis is literally endless from the custom made 4 link 9" diff, fully floating axles, custom disk brakes setup and on forward to the camira power steering rack setup and front suspension which is a total mix of parts, from any amount of manufacturers. I cannot begin to list all of them just to fabricate the juicy adjustable coilovers/Commodore uprights just for starters!!!!

Heres the front suspension. Its Falcon hubs on modified Commodore uprights with adjustable coilovers and relocated top strut mounts.
For those who dont know, Mustangs have a double "A" arm suspension like most older Falcodoors of the time. This fucker now rides on McPherson struts!

Image
Image

The 9" is particularly juicy. Custom made fully floating axles... the list goes on. Pictures speak a thousand words:

Image
Image

ill get some pix of the 4 link attachment points within the cab as time goes by. Good lord its heavy-duty stuff............

The hand made headers are a work of art and how the boys made the 2&1/4" into 3" into 5" extractors clear everything and snake down out to the 5"....yes FIVE inch system and out the side just in front of the wheels and STILL be able to get them on and off is simply anybodies guess!!!!!! A hell of a lot of work in them pipes.

From these animals:

Image

Into this. I put my size 12 hoof into the frame for a perspective on the sheer size of these things:

Image

And then on into this contraption.... its called a muffler....of sorts. All stainless and done from scratch.
Check it:

Image

Which lives under here:

Image

Something to guage the magnitude of these suckers. Its a 300mm steel rule:

Image
Image

A hand made aluminium full width dash, hand made adjustable pedal box....... it goes on and on.

Heres a raw one of the dash. All done by hand out of 3mm sheet and extrusion. The pedal assembly was out unfortunately.

Image

Oh yes, the Barry Grants (carbs) result in almost cable breaking throttle weight so the boys designed and fabricated a delicious vacuum assisted throttle linkage!!!!!!!
Yep, you read it right. Its the most deliciously ingenious one-off device all hand fabricated from scratch!! Sits attached to the side of the carbs and its an amazing bit of ingenuity!!!!!!! No pix of those tho sadly now but ill get some when the linkage arrangement returns to its place on the carbs.

The engine has been given further attention with the addition of a custom made rev-kit.
For those not familiar with the term, rev kits are fitted to engines running roller follower (as opposed to flat tappet followers) or lifters on street engines.
The reason is that wild roller cam lifters/cam combinations usually employ quite large tappet clearance and at low/idle street revs, the roller can slow down and even stop and when the cam lobe comes in contact with the follower, the rollers skids before it spins up to roll over the lobe. It results in high lobe and follower wear and can lead to failure.
Its an extra set of "valve" springs which bear directly on top of the lifter itself maintaining positive pressure of the follower onto the cam lobe.

Apologies for the pix quality but you can see the clobber here:

Image

Note the mesh screen over the cam valley fitted with those square rare earth magnets!
There is quite a bit of kit rattling up and down there and in the event of a failure, the screen and the magnets are there to catch debris and prevent it from dropping down past the cam and eventually onto the crank.

The heads, rocker and valve gear is fairly serious. I have a rather large hand and I easily stuffed 4 fingers into those inlet ports.
Even the lowest of low slappers Ive known over the years were tighter than this thing!

More later.

Serious Braking

Post by tassuperkart »

Now, these guys are not limited to building large american bent 8 iron.
Ian likes to play with stuff closer to my heart in the form of Ford Escorts.
hes actually got a couple of them, one is powere by a Ford 2.3l Pinto ohc engine (same as ohc 2.ol Esky/Cortina.
I wont go into the details of if but suffices to say, its turbo over supercharged EFI and produces in the vicinity of 700Hp. Its a road registered wepon and the amount of work and attention to detail is staggering right down to the Tilton 4.5" x 5 plate F1/Le-mans car type carbon-metallic clutch which you can depress with a finger and transfers over 1000Hp smoothly and reliably..............

(Tassuperkart waits for persistant erection to subside.....)

Now, his latest Eski is a quad TB efi 2.0l Eski motor powered Mk2 as a track blaster/hillclimber.
Again the workmanship and attention to detail is staggering but the boys felt that the eski brakes... and anything else they could buy suitable for it were just a little...welll.... ordinary. So, they got serious!
Id like to show you the braking setup they arrived at.

Now, keep in mind, the car will weigh around 800 Kilos and the wheels are 15" and are not going larger due to.....oh it doesn't matter..... just wont be......accept it.
Have a little look at these things and apologies for pix quality but just a phone camera jobbie:

Image

Its a twin opposed piston caliper from a Nissan 300zx.

What? Not impressed yet? Thats just a teaser for the main event to come!

Well you perhaps need to know that these are the REAR calipers only.......

The best is yet to come.

Behold!:

Image
Image
Image

Yep, how did you guess?? Brembo NASCAR monoblock 4 piston alloy (Unobtainium) calipers with titanium pistons along with fully floating Brembo rotors. Straight offen a real live current spec NASCAR (which coincidentally run 15" wheels)

There, that any better?!!!!!!!
Remember ladies, these brakes come off a rather large touring car which runs around 800 Hp at 200 mph +! The Eski will weight prolly around 800Kg...............................

And you thought your fucking Magna brakes were speccie................................. sheesh. Im almost embarrassed to admit to them my Evo 4 front brakes on the Pooser.

(Tassuperkart wanders off aimlessly, drooling profusely, with a cock so hard and shiny that a cat couldn't climb it.........!!)

More later.

OK the id seriously consider something else dude. ANYTHING to do with Mk11 eskies now will cost! They are getting very rare now.

You can find heaps better seats and with a little imagination you can bolt anything in so id be trawling the wreckers and looking for something much more modern and comfortable.

My 2 bobs neway.
