i'm keen to see how much power he dragged out of that thing. even if it wasn't as powerfull as a turbo E15 it would still sound awesome.

Bah! Cant polish a turd.

Even blown these engines are pretty tame. Altho the GP midgets seem to make reasonable power...allbeit at 10.000 rpm plus, methanol and 14:1 CR.

He'el unload more money on carbs and tuneups. I reckon the novelty will wear off rather quickly.

i tell you something. i had a worked datto L20b (2.2L) in the 1600 and it had twin carbs. a pair of 48mm DCOE webbers bored and re-jetted to 52mm. rull race cam (scored that somehow) big 4 - 2 - 1 extractors, tuned length exhaust, electronic dixxy, navara crank, full balance to 9200rpm, etc.. this engine was absolutely nuts. easily made 200-210HP at the rear wheels depending on tuning time. but it lasted about a week afte the tune. then it went to shit. then you tune it again.

ran nice one day, then it was a few degrees colder the next, no good, then it was hot the next, no good, then it was reasonable the next day, then it was fantastic, then it was a little off, then it was good, then it was fucked, then it was good again, then i got fed up...

friend had a turbo 2.0L. std cam, 4 - 1 then 2.5" exhaust, single sub 42mm DCOE and a massive T04/T03 hybrid.. let me tell you it would smoke my car in acceleration and it certainly eclipest my 135mph top speed at 5000rpm...

moral of the story. carbies are gay unless they are sucked on by a big turbo. Fuel injection is better, fuel injected intercooled turbo.. well.. need i say more..?

It's kind of like the evolutionary chain...... but for engine power.
