Long time since I've done an update so here goes.
After finishing the T25 & FMIC as well as AFM relocation, the car was running really nice. The front body kit however didn't sit on very well so I had to chop it up a bit to allow the piping to sit behind it, and made a mould for the pipes with fiberglass to make it look nice. Did a bit of repair while I was at it.

While I was at it, I decided the thing needed a respray. I had some difficulty finding matching silver rattle cans but came pretty close with this color.

I also decided to paint the rear kit while I was there.

Unfortuntely in January the T25/g started to become quite smokey so I swapped it out with a spare T25 I had. I was having issues with oil leaks at the oil inlet as well, so I went down to Sprint Auto and got some braided hose + fittings made up for me, came to a total of $75. I was pretty happy with that! And fixed the oil leak too.

Evan recently sent me this MT-8 as a surprise gift... can't thank him enough for it!
IMG_3701.jpg
It will be going in the car soon -- so far I have ordered a few things for the MT-8 install as follows:
  • AEM X-Series Wideband o2 sensor
  • CA18DET Injectors (Cleaned & flow tested)
  • LS1 coil packs
  • Walbro 255 fuel pump
Once these have arrived I can start working out a plan and get the MT-8 installed! Woohoo!

A few weeks ago I broke down at 6am... the car was hitting a brick wall at 3k rpm and missing a cylinder after a 30 minute drive, as I kept driving, the wall was lowering, to 2k rpm, 1k rpm, eventually to the point where I couldn't take off in 1st gear because of it... Had to get it towed home.

IMG_3730.jpg

I proceeded to replace the dizzy rotor button as well as the dizzy cap, as cold start issues had been a thing for a while, it would misfire like a bitch until it warmed up. But this was to no avail.

Finally, a few days ago she stalled at the lights and wouldn't start. In fact, I cranked over the engine and a HUGE flame shot out the back! The Mr's was in the passenger seat and said to me, "Don't you DARE do that again!". 2 hours later, and a tow home, I pulled apart the distributor. Sure enough, the CAS was rooted. 2nd time this has happened now... grrr....

I've ordered a NEW CAS (Previously I had a few used spares lying about from early SR20 engines), will see if that helps out. Mind you, can't wait to piss of the stock ignition system once the MT-8 goes in.

I've been working on an N12 gearbox with N13 gearset recently, I took it down to JRM Transmissions to get new bearings and races put it, got the gearbox back this week and finished rebuilding it last night. Can't wait to chuck this bad boy in.... here's some pics of the finished box.

Subtle on the outside, same colour as a nana's hair rinse, but a fighting shandy drinker underneath.
Great I like this
