Bit of a story:
Back in late 2000, for my birthday i was given a pulsar by my auntie who had no use for it after she purchased a new car. The condition of it was perfect apart from a rust hole in the roof which was quite bad. It was this car which i started learning all of what i know today. i even learnt to drive in a paddock with this car
It was a standard GX 1.5lt 5spd manual which kept me entertained for quite a while
It wasnt untill one day when looking on the internet i discovered the beloved Turbo ET model. I kid you not, the very next day on the way to school i spotted one for sale, that night it was mine.
ET# 1
This was my first car i had actually payed for myself. $1000 was the purchase price. and had the usual 2 1/2" exhaust, 10psi boost, cd player. Also it had a few options like Sun roof, what appeared to be a very stock looking UHF radio, watercooled T2, tinted windows etc.
I immediatly started stripping the car, the engine was removed and stripped to get a rebuild, while the body was stripped for a respray.
This is where it didnt go too well.
As you can see from the pictures, the body was riddled with rust, in the rear section as shown, in the door sills (because of the sideskirts), under and above the windscreen and a little in the front lower section of the guards.
With the motor basically ready to be dropped in after its rebuild (more on this later) i needed another body because this one just wasnt going to cut it.
This is when i found the Red ET in the trading post. (more on this shortly)
after purchasing it for $1200 it was back home on the trailer (mind you it was nearly impossible to get it on the trailer because of the cut springs)
With another car in the way i stripped the white body 100% so there was not one single bolt or part left on the car, the body was crushed.

ET #2 - The Engine
The specs on this motor have all been listed in post #1
Here are the pictures from the buildup:
How the engine looked from the white ET
Copper Head Gasket 1.5mm
This is the original schwitzer turbo i ran on the car
It had quite a large exhaust wheel
Dont ask me why i did this blue
Shows the difference in port size
I think i knew where it all went??
Marked ready for porting
Ported to suit the larger custom throttle body
Ported and shaped into a belmouth on the inside.
Lightened and balanced flywheel
Excedy 4 Puck Clutch
