yeah, i prefer the round headlights, but thats personal opinion..
i like the classic look of the '70s with an injected heart :)

to my understanding, holden originally brought in 600 of the Isuzu's to dip their toes in the water and see how the small car market was going to sell over here.. don't forget, back in the early '70s, everyone wanted barges with stonking V8s in them..
none the less, the market boomed and they sold, holden then commenced mass production in australia, and these were badged as a holden.

easy way to tell the isuzu's was they had a black engine bay, and the japanese labels under the bonnet (tyre placard, fan warning, etc)

i'll stop rambling now.. i'm starting to feel a bit toey already and considering buying one again! ;)
Cheers,
Spudley

The Gemini looks awesome m8! I think I have seen a few of these in my country at some point... they are called Opel Kadett C over here. I've mostly seen those with square headlights, they look heaps better with round headlights.

UPDATE TIME!

well, not much has changed, I've fitted a chrome air cleaner assembly to the carby, a breather pod on the valve cover, some MSD throw over seat covers to cover up the stained old ET seats, and generally giver the ol' girl a wash and vac, dash treatment, tyre shine, etc..

enjoy!

anyone got recommendations on getting the ET wheels painted? do i just take them to a powdercoater's, or do they have to be oven baked enamel or something?

as long as you prep them really well, you can just use a good quality pressure pack can..........

question: do you have any idea where your extractors came from, or were they on the car when you bought it?

cheers mate!

the extractors were already on the car.. the guy i got the car from told me he got a crack in the original manifold and it was cheaper to get the extractors off ebay. theres no name or brand or anything on them, so i've got no idea what they are.

I'll be shopping around for a replacement overflow bottle and washer bottle probably next month (rego due at the end of this month).
I remember seeing a pollished alloy or stainless steel overflow bottle that runs down the side of the radiator, and only about 80mm diameter... so i gotta get the proper measurements and see if it'll fit...
for the washer bottle, if I cant find an aftermarket one, i'll try find a new-ish one and paint it the same as the body.

I really wanna tidy up (hide) some wiring in the bay and replace some of the vaccum lines that can't be hidden with some nice red sillicone ones (or is that too ricer?) lol

Spudley

Wheels

Post by Timmzy »

Hi,

You can just take them to the powdercoaters and get them done - but quote on it first it could be $$$$$ and I think colors are somewhat limited.

OR

:)

You could have them bead blasted. Then drop them over to me, and we will etch prime them (1ltr of that reqd) then acrylic them up with whatever color you want.

During the off season though (after November)

Darren

cheers darren! i'm just wanting them done in white again.. I've got 3 white wheels and 1 silver, and if i paint the silver one then it'll still be odd, cos it'll be all new-like lol

how durable is the acrylic finish, and how much to prime and paint the 4 wheels?
Cheers,
Spudley
