I got the TURBO cluster :D

The whole front cover and lens was missing, the tacho's needle was broken and it was DIRTY

But i thought i can fix this.

So i stripped the complete cluster to have a look if all the inside components are still in working condition and to give it a clean.

This is what it looked like on the inside when i stripped it

Cleaned :D

I took the top cover from an old cluster and cut the complete face part out, had to cut a few more things in order for it to fit nicely, but in the end my modification worked out

Cut out

Test fit, will re-spray the cover satin black.

Ill have to get a clear plastic lens cover, i test fitted mine just to check and it fits 100%, and luckly all the langley's have these clusters, so that won't be too hard to find

The plugs at the back of the cluster are also NOT the same as the non turbo :) so ill have to get them and the tacho needle from a turbo model

I apologize for the late update, been busy

But the good news is its a BIG update

Got a engine for the project :D

Few weeks ago the mx6's water pump pulley came loose and the result is a busted front head gasket  So decided to use the mx6 engine for the project and sell the complete mx6 body.

So on the weekend we pulled the engine and started stripping, will aso be using the std mx6 fuel management system. This is a very healthy engine so im not even opening it up, just replacing the gasket, give it a good clean, spray the tappet covers, fuel rails and intake mani and dropping it in the exa. i wish its that easy

Here's some :pics: no turning back now. Yes its final, you are going to see a v6 exa :o

Empty mx6 bay.

Here it is, the mazda kl-03/kl-de 2.5 24v v6 engine

It just looks big, it not really.

First thing that was stripped was the unnesesery power robbing creatures named "power steering" and "aircon pump"

Power steering gone

Aircon gone

All done

Whats with this exhaust design :?

The intake mani.

The head will come off in the next week or so

Those little V6's are an really willing and powerful engine.
I have a sort of cobber who has one fitted into a vee-dub Baja thing.
It goes like crazy.

I, like Ash, like your style M8.
Best of luck.

Yes those are a very good motor, we had a mazda cappela at work, and I agree with that exhaust desigh,WTF. I thinks its so the pipe is the same length to where they join, some models have a better design, but if you get your hands on one of those you will need the sump and oil pump pickup to make it fit

Thanx guys

Yes, another mazda engine

Found out the exhaust design is so the 2 banks of cylinders sees the same amount of back pressure. Thought it had to have something to do with back pressure :?

Im not sure ill use the turbo cluster on the project, the v6 has a electronic speedo, im thinking of building a cluster for it using an old clusted casing i have with the speedo/tacho/temp ect of the mx6, will have to get a mx6 cluster.

It will sound great :D

Import N12's have the icons

I bought an Aussie ET here in NZ with the Words... I actually liked that better, not to mention it had an extra 20K's at the top of the speedo. Its in my Exa now.

I have about 4 import Turbo dashed if anyone wants one
