why the Turbosmart Boost Tee? or the BOV? if you mean the Boost Tee then you must of had a freaky one because i have had a couple and they just don't hold steady boost!
i usually run 18-19psi and it always spikes over 20 then back down with the Turbosmart. i baught a cheap little Turbotech and problem solved. faster spool up and nice solid boost.
for the little money you pay for a Turbotech boost controller they are more than worth it!

and with the Monza BOV's i haven't actually used one but have heard a few stories of them opening when they shouldn't.

The problem is that you are running a blow off valve on a car that was never designed to run one.

It sounds like your BOV is spliced into an unsuitable vacuum line.

A blow off valve is pointless on these cars, only good for wank(er) value, the only way to get your n12 to run 100% with a BOV installed is aftermarket management.

The factory ECU assumes that all air passing through the AFM is going to end up in the engine. When you vent the air, the car doesn't know and continues to act as if it's still there which means too much fuel for the situation.

I understand the need for conformity. Without a concise set of rules to follow we would probably all have to resort to common sense.

fuck off. without the BOV connected the first thing i noticed was my ET bogging down between gearchanges! and slower spool up. all with a stock ECU!

with it connected never a drama!

Ash, you are arguing one point with a different point. Your bov is designed to minimise the effects of compressor stall, you know that... Yet you seem to be saying that beacuse it does this, it does not ovefuel between gearshifts.

Joel is correct in saying your car wont run 100%. It wont. It will be fine underload (unless its leaky), but if you monitered it you will see that the fuel mixture will be richer after a gear change. This could result in 'bogging down' also. That doesnt sound like a perfect 100% car. Joel is also correct about aftermarket management. Im sure you are aware of that too, you're not stupid, so why argue it?

I have run a BOV before. I have run without a BOV before. I know the effects of one and can see both points here.

I wouldnt say its COMPLETE wank(er) value... there is some need for it, but most people just use it for the fullysik sound mate!!!

When using a stock ECU its a trade off. You sort out what is best for you and your car (different cars respond differently) and stop making this an argument. Please.

Plumback FTW. Not much (if any) hiss tho.
Or semi-plumbback to minimise fuelling on throttle off and still get some hiss!
Compromise but works.
