on a side note what gearbox are you using? what compression are you getting with those pistons and headgasket? and how much did the cam set you back?

when i got my stage 4 off them it was $209 and another $77 for the matching valve springs. so it will be interesting to see if they have been marked up and by how much over the years. they were the 2007 prices.

hey guys cheers for the possitive comments,
hey ash howd the the valve springs that you got from camtech fit?? because the ones they gave me where really sloppy and the retainers dont hold them and they caught on the head on first start up and one grabbed and bent a valve luckily didnt do much damage just some new valves and another headgasket and headbolts, thought the engine builder would have picked up on it when they put it together grr, trying to get it sorted now though so will get some more pics and vids soon as its goin
cheers nathan

Your engine "builder" assembled your head with your expensive new clobber and didnt think to check valve seating pressures during assembly and shim up to suit???
This would have shown up this horror before it got a chance to do the damage.
After shimming to spec, he should have then also checked for spring bind at maximum lift. Ill bet he hasnt done that either. You would be wise to double check this.
These basic checks are done as a matter of course by someone with at least half a brain when using new and different clobber from stock.

Your real lucky you didnt get more than just bent valves dude.

Engine builder my arse! What else did he accidentally not check.....like big end cap bolts for tightness??? Rr the oil pickup pipe??? Sheesh. What a dickhead he is!!!!
Take your stuff to a proper engine builder in future m8. Not this turkey!! he should consider a change of career to a dismantler at a local wreckers.............

the springs they sent only just fit inside the head. the retainers are just big enough. i haven't had any dramas though thankfully.

L-R. Camtech spring, Holden 186 spring and standard E15ET spring.
