So come Saturday evening we might have a 9sec notification post hey Bjorn?

Best of luck getting it, although I don't think luck is something you need in that thing. Crazy.

Cheers

Hi guys.
Im very tired as I write this, but Ill try to make it as understandable as possible...

First round this morning I blew up my intake.
Not completely, but I got a 40cm crack all along following a weld.
I got it fixed after a while, so for next round I ran another 18-psi run.
It ended up in 10,71 - 212km/h
For the third round I activated the automatic boost increase per shift in my Innovative MSBC1.
That resulted in 10,18 - 236km/h!

It fealt really good and I was feeling a bit more boost would probably make me enter the nines.
I still have quite a bit more of boost to add before I reach the boost we had when we got 915hp in the dyno.

In my forth run my cluch gave up on me,
causing a couple of over-revs.
I dont know if any valves are damaged yet, but one lashcap has flipped.

A new cluch and a different sarting technique for the next race will be on top of scedule.
Have to inspect the head better tomorrow, but I dont feel its a big job.

Next race, wich also will be the last of our season here in Sweden
will be 9-10 september.

Videos will show up rather soon.
We had three cameras. One from inside the car, one from rear and one from the side.
Ill be back. =)

I bogged the start in my first run.
Dont know what its called in english, but we call it that you bogg the start...
...its when you got more traction than power so the engine almost stalls when leaving the line.

We tested the launch controle two days before the race but we got too much explotions in the exhaust no matter how we did it,
and to save the turbo we decided to run without it until we got it sorted out.
To make sure I wouldnt bog the other runs I went away letting the cluch take the pain.
Unfortunally it only survived three runs so thats why I have to let go of the cluch pedal a bit quicker and hope the tyres will spinn instead.

The cluch is a Sachs MX200 and should be able to handle 1200 Nm
but riding on it like I did this weekend doesnt seem like the right thing for it. =)
I have to remove the engine to get the cluch out so I wont get it out until the middle of the week I think.

Nice work Bjorn. well done. your definately an inspirationo to all N12 owners.

also 'Bogged Down' is pretty much what we call that over here. so we know exactly what you mean.. it came from horse and cart days when they got 'Bogged' in the muddy roads and the horse couldn't pull it out..

Its also what we call non-turbo cars.. lol.. cause they are always bogged down with no boost.. ahahahahah.. i'm only kidding.

Ben i always wondered why it was refered to as 'bogged down'. You learn something new everyday.

Well....I'm always bogged down with other things that stop me from working on my car, like females and work work!! That's why your Hotwok is so special B-man, a lot of work, time, effort and money. Its appreciated from my end anyway!!

Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing the cars maximum potential.

is now the 10th of September and I woud like to tell you I entered the nines...
...but unfortunally I did not.
I didnt even enter the track.

To begin with, the head got some minor damages after the wild over-revs.
All intake valves were leaking badly, the Tommei MLS head gasket had broke on four places.

At the same time the head was fixed I got some more detailed informatione in the cluch issue.
It showed out that the cluch I broke was not at all a MX200.
It was some special order rally cross 184mm cluch from early -90s.
I was told it should handle 1200Nm when I bought it but when checking it thrue Sachs database it was only rated 810Nm
and someone had removed 1-2mm of the surfaces inside it.
Therefor it was more likely to hold on to a max torque of 400-500Nm.
Bla bla, Im sorry folks, but I just feel like telling you the full story. =)
Well well
I got a brand new Sachs MX200 rated 1020Nm to play with,
but the day after my cluch guy arrived with a pressure plate rated to 1040Nm instead
so we went for the strongest ass pressureplate we could find.
-Who wouldnt?

Today I can tell that was a bad mistake.

All pieces of the car was together at 01:00 friday night.
Thats when the brand new cluch showed out not being able to release the power.
I couldnt engage any gears and if I tryed to start with a gear engaged
the car would jump forward as if I didnt have my foot at the cluch pedal at all.
A mild building error makes the removal of the gearbox while the engine still in the car very hard.
We tried to rebuild the hydraulic cluch system to wire but with no success.
My team mates sent me home to get some sleep while they began to remove the engine.
When I got back they had lifted up the engine in a way that made it possible to get the gearbox out so I removed it.
We spent a couple of hours trying to find out what was wrong with the cluch,
we really did a great job all of us and we found a couple of spots that might make it to fail.
A couple of hours later the gearbox and engine was back in place and at 16:00 saturday afternoon the darn cluch still did not work.
Last minute arrival to the race was 17:00 and it takes half an hour to get to the track so we just put the car down to the floor,
locked up the garage and went to the track to get ourselves some beers instead.
That really sucked!

Now Im pretty convinced there were more difference betwen the 1020Nm-plate and the 1040Nm-plate than just the rating.
Probably the height differes but tomorrow a journalist from Swedens biggest car-magazine want to pop by the garage to take some photos
so I cant get the cluch-issue sorted out until tusday at the earliest.

There is one more 402m race here in Sweden that I know of
but its on an airfield still in use so there wont be heaps of trackbite over there Im afraid.
I will know later this week if Ill go there or not.
Until then have fun.

Dude, that's a pity that you couldn't get it out there. I guess some things aren't meant to happen.
When you say there is one more 402m race, do you mean the season is nearly over, or your just impatient like me and want to get that thing done A.S.A.P.?

mmmmm beer. Is there nothing it can't make better?

Good Luck Bjorn.
